55Flash Fiction Friday

Ginghams and calicos made her feel like throwing up a little. Cute needlepointed sayings in lacey embroidery hoops were not her thing. If you said the word "crafts" around her, you might get the sneer.

Then one day she googled this photo and thought, "Thats what sewing looks like to me! How did they know?"

Ok if I don't get here before you do, write me a 55, willya?
This is about the coolest pic of a sewing machine ive ever seen.
I've been spending way too much time behind my machines, that's for sure!
See ya later...

I am a crazy lad, we all know
For that I make no apologies
Yet, in the world I live, there is little room for crazy
So I play with my imagination, I believe when you
Kiss me you give me fever, fever when you hold me tight
But what a lovely way to burn.

The kids screaming, running, throwing, playing. Yet she was determined to finish her beautiful quilt. The checkerboard squares alternated between solid pinks in shades of rose and carnation, adjacent to squares of flowered patterns and others with hearts. A heart shaped pattern embroidered accross the entirety of the blanket. An exquisite gift for her mother.

This 55 flash fiction is dedicated to my mother. I don't know how she quilted with all 6 of her kids bugging her. I can barely sew pillows with one child bugging me. I played too, check it out!

This is the second time today that I've found myself in a parellel universe... I'm having a gender crisis.

You were right, by the way. But 28... (!)

I would not have guessed that was a sewing machine. Unless I was on drugs.

Lovely, crazy picture Susie! Reminded me of the first sewing machine mom got back in the 50ties and I had to try it of course – it was a machine! I sew my thumb, got the needed band aid and learned my lessons:-) Today my mom always says; you are better on computers LoL!

I was a closet knitter until I discovered www.knitty.com and www.rebecca.de . Now I am in the open. I also just discovered a Marlene Dietrich youtube video in which she knits (she did sewing too). Who says handycrafts aren't trendy?
