Ahhh, springtime in the orchard. Birds, bees, butterflies....all sorts of wildlife. Looks pretty harmless doesn't it? Well, let me tell you, life in the country isn't all safe and cushy you know......
Heh! Ok, I swear it, this thing was coiled and ready to spring....I picked it up with my bare hands, and the little choad tried to bite me! It had this black
hissing tongue...and it felt just like a little tap, no teeth.
I screamed my
head off!
Ok I know it's just a little harmless gopher snake..but if I had really been this small, there'd be no HNT from me today! (Clicky for huge pic of me and my pal there!)
Happy HNT everyone!
UPDATE**Please come check out the blog of LisaPizza, who is trying to join the HNT train, but blogger is making sure she has a really tough time about it!
Mr Ratburn is out of town this week, and not playing, well, he's playing alright, just not with us!

LOL! I'm jealous of your wonderful photoshopping skills. Say, that gives me an idea. Since you've already been shrunk down to about 4 inches high, do you think you could swing by and rescue me from doom on my own HNT blog . . .
. . . please . . . ?
LMAO @ the snake picture. YOu are a funny lady.:)

SusieQ, I'm up on HNT and have a link to yours. The comment link worked this week and I didn't change a thing. Go figure. Google was no help in this dept. at all. No surprise.
BTW~I love the cherry blossom photo. Your tiny self can get into some precarious situations. I'm much happier living large though, if you know what I mean?
Happy HNT! Love your posts!
That first pic is beautiful. The second one - notsomuch! Snakes are icky!

I'm glad you didn't get et. by the giant snakey! HHNT baby!
Bring that thing with you on your visit...they eat rodents. Nevermind, it's too cold up here. Glad you survived the ordeal.
ACK! Atleast it's not a bee.. those are worse than snakes!! Happy hnt, Suze!!
I can tell you need a safer place to be in spring. May I suggest the Norwegian woods - no snakes or at least not poison once? LoL
